Welcome to Rotana Lifestyle

Hello and welcome to a new edition of Rotana Lifestyle – our exclusive digital platform offering plenty of inspiration on all things travel, art, fashion, food and more

The bright and sunny possibilities of summer holidays are on the horizon as we introduce our latest issue of Rotana Lifestyle. For many travellers, the coming weeks will mark their first trip in two years, with many heading to dreamy, exotic locales for an indulgent break to make up for the lost time. The seasoned lot are preparing to make the most of the slower pace felt during this time of year, taking up every opportunity to explore new places and make new memories doing what they love best.

It is exciting to see how every individual traveller is driven by their unique passions. Some chase their love for art, history and culture around the world, while others plan their trips in search of new culinary flavours; some go to far-flung destinations to embark on thrilling adventures while others travel seeking solitude in nature. And with these specific needs in mind, at Rotana, we offer an array of stunning properties to choose from, with hotels featuring vibrant settings by the seaside, buzzing retreats in the heart of the city and sleek finds in historic destinations.

We are especially excited about the reopening of Johari Rotana, our five-star business hotel in Dar Es Salaam, which recently began welcoming guests in Tanzania for the first time since the pandemic. It comes at the ideal time as animal safari lovers from around the world make their way to the country to witness one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth - the wildebeest migration. Through this issue, we've paid homage to this fascinating phenomenon – one of the oldest animal movements on the planet – which will help first-timers know what to expect.

Summer ties everything together in this edition as we take a look at some of the best places to visit this season. If you have yet to make plans, our round-up of summer escapes is sure to offer plenty of inspiration, while our edit of fashionable finds will help you decide exactly what to bring along on each of your trips. For those seeking some moments of me time, we've even lined up riveting reads that will make ideal companions as you soak up the sun on a sandy shore with the sound of lapping waves soothing the senses. We also take a look at indoor destinations, from digital art galleries in Dubai to theme parks in Abu Dhabi that will keep the whole family entertained as temperatures rise outdoors.

Closer to home, there's plenty going on! At a time when the region usually slows down, businesses are working round the clock to enhance their tourism offerings with an array of international events set to take place in the last quarter of the year. The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ is set to be the biggest event of the year with over three million ticket requests already made for the finals. And it's not just Qatar that will see a rise in visitor numbers around the event. The neighbouring countries are also preparing to host the overflow of fans, many of which are set to extend their trips by journeying through the Middle East. Exciting times lie ahead!

On behalf of the entire team, I look forward to welcoming you to a Rotana hotel very soon and hope you enjoy browsing this edition of Rotana Lifestyle.

With kind regards,

Guy Hutchinson
